Here are two units I have made using the designs and PCBs from BARTG:

Upper: a Tonni Tuner
Lower: a Multiterm |

I made this using the designs and PCB from the Remote Imaging Group.

The Cray, 4m Transverter.
This is my version of the design by Dave Robinson, G4FRE, in "The VHF/UHF DX Book" of 1992. I photocopied the artwork from the book and used it on photo resist PCB material. The PA pcb is also from that book but uses a BLY84 and other small changes.

The PA is under the screen, visible in the base of the box. |

Plans for the Future.
I intend to change the PA stage as only 8W out is not enough for a poor antenna like mine! The design output of the transverter board is a nominal 100mW but I have not measured it. The replacement PA will be a new type FET module by Toshiba, RA30H0608M, from GH Engineering. It should produce at least 30W at 12v from 100mW drive. A heatsink will need to be added. As the PA space is in the bottom of the box the whole unit will have to be turned upside down.
Whatch this space to see how I get on!
